CARHAMPTON RECREATION CENTRE

The car park at the Carhampton Recreation Centre is a private car park specifically for those using the facilities at the Rec and when supporting our social and fundraising events. The management committee have an obligation to provide six short stay car parking spaces for those using the village shop and post office, which we honour and will continue to do so. These short stay parking bays are located in the small upper car park.

 

However our landlord has advised the Carhampton Recreation Committee that a more formal arrangement should be in place for those who permanently park their vehicles in the car park and for overnight parkers. In the light of this we have decided to introduce car parking charges and permits.

All maintenance to the centre is paid for via our fundraising activities, therefore we feel it is reasonable to ask those who reguarly park their vehicles in the Rec car park to contribute to the upkeep. At present the car park is in need of some repair and the money raised from the introduction of parking permits and the contributions from others using the car park on a temporary basis will be used to repair and maintain the car park.

With this in mind the committee are introducing the following charges

​

• Free parking is permitted for the first hour, thereafter a charge of £1 for a maximum stay of 5 hours.

• Parking Permits are available for longer stays at £5 per week and £100 for an annual permit

​

A new sign will be displayed in the car park detailing the above parking changes. Short stay fees can be deposited in the honesty box situated at the main entrance to the building, namely the double entrance doors.

The Rec Centre and Recreation field are a valuable village amenity managed and maintained by a team of dedicated volunteers, please respect their commitment and hard work and help us to preserve and protect this vital community space for all to enjoy. This is especially true during the pandemic lockdown where the Rec field is available to be used an important recreation and outside exercise facility.

Those wishing to purchase a parking permit can either download an application form via the button below or use the contact email address and a form will be emailed to you on request. Parking permits will be issued once a completed form is received back and the parking fee has been paid in full. BACS or direct payment into our bank account is our preferred method of payment.
