Sports
One of the strategic aims of the Recreation Centre is to support the sporting needs of local residents and the surrounding villages. To that end we aim to provide a wide range of sporting activities that are easily accessible, available to all and promote health and wellbeing. We are always looking to increase the opportunities and classes available as and when demand arises, in the future we would like to run keep fit, walking football and yoga classes.

Cricket
The Carhampton Cricket Club has been established for many years. At present the team plays in the fourth division of the West Somerset league. The cricket pitch is kept in excellent condition by our groundsman and his team of volunteer helpers and enjoys fantastic views of the West Somerset countryside and the Bristol Channel. In a thrilling cricket match on Aug 21st Carhampton beat Huish Champflower and have assured their promotion to division three of the West Somerset Cricket league. In the evening a very succesfull fundraising social was held in the Rec Hall with live music by the highly acclaimed band "Any Given Monday". Thank you to everyone who has supported the Carhampton Cricket Club this season.
Badminton
Friendly badminton sessions reguarly take place on Monday morning from 9.30am to 11.30am. The Sports Hall is also available at other times by arrangement if a more competitive game is your desire. A standard charge of £2.50 per person per session applies.
MUGA
The Multi Use Games Area was errected in 2010 with funding provided by the County Council and the Big Lottery Fund. This hard surface area is marked out for court tennis, five aside football and netball and is open and available for use at all times.

Croquet
Croquet is played at the Recreation Centre every Friday from 10am - 12 noon for a modest charge of £3 per person. In the summer months up to three lawns are in play; during the winter months and in inclement weather play takes place inside in the Long Hall. On these occaisions short mat bowls is also available.
Table Tennis
A friendly afternoon of table tennis can be enjoyed on Mondays from 2pm - 4pm in the Sports Hall where two tables are in play. The cost is £2.50 per person, for more details please contact the Rec Centre.
